What am I buying?
One self-hosted BetterKafka installation with one configured Kafka cluster included, the full licensed product surface, and signed online licensing.
How are Kafka clusters counted?
Each server-configured Kafka cluster entry uses one cluster credit. Broker count, topic count, message volume, and user count do not change the price.
Where does BetterKafka run?
BetterKafka runs in your Kubernetes environment from its Helm chart and connects to deployment-owned Kafka endpoints. Kafka records stay on the product data path inside your environment.
What licence data leaves my environment?
Online licensing sends a pseudonymous installation identifier, the product version, and the aggregate configured-cluster count. It does not send broker addresses, topic names, message keys, or message values.
What happens after payment?
The billing provider confirms payment to BetterKafka through a signed server-to-server event. Your account then reveals the one-time activation key and opens the Helm setup guide.
What if the licence authority is temporarily unavailable?
A valid online entitlement includes a bounded outage grace period. The console shows the state clearly and fails closed only after the signed final boundary.
Can I run fully offline?
Finite, installation-bound offline entitlements are available through the annual enterprise workflow because a disconnected installation cannot be revoked immediately.
Can I cancel?
The hosted billing portal owns renewal, invoices, payment methods, and cancellation. Access continues through the paid term, subject to the published commercial terms.
